Happy Birthday to Me!

Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

Yes, the countdown will be removed.....I am officially 29!

I hope no one important dies today. That would suck. 9 years ago it was Princess Diana. Talk about a major downer for my birthday!

Today I am moving things from the "old house" to the "new house". I get my keys in about an hour. I am so excited! It will have to go in stages, as I only have so many boxes, but that's why I am going the kitchen and my bedroom first....most of it can be emptied and the boxes recycled...am I clever or what?

Thanks to everyone who left birthday messages in my last post!

Home Sweet Home

There's nothing like returning home and sleeping in your own bed. I would have to say that after watching a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, it's the most comforting in the world. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I slept on a cold concrete floor for the last week....I most certainly was given bed space. But my pillowtop matress that Hubby and I got 2 years ago has no competition as far as confort goes.

So I bet you all are wondering about the wedding? Damn, I wish I had pictures, but I don't. And you know why? Because my digital camera chose Tuesday night to start messing up. given the time constraints and the lists of things to do for the Bride, I didn't have time to go and get it taken care of. Even now I dont....I have packing to do because I start to move in 2 days...

So - the wedding....Nessa was beautiful...I saw her coming down the aisle, then I looked to her intended and I could see He was fighting to hold back the tears. I lost it. The Priest or Bishop or whatever he was had one of the altar boys get me some tissues. Those went into good use through out the ceremony. of course I had to split it with Nessa who was her own version of water works. After the ceremony was over, we went and took pictures at the site where D-man proposed. On the way one of the groomsmen called Domino's and had them deliver to the outdoor venue in Roger Williams Park. After driving around the more scenic parts of Providence, we headed to the reception. WHAT A CROWD!! Over 200 people at the reception, and lemme tell ya, crowds and I, they don't mix well. After cocktail hour, the Weddign Party was introduced. Then the best man and I had to give our little speeches.

I was nervous. I mean really nervous. Shaking like a leaf. I could barely read my speech, because my hands were shaking so much. I managed to get through the speech and only cried 2 times. Vanessa of course, cried too. So then dinner, dancing and lots of fun....I'd go into it more....but honestly, I am tired just thinking about it again. It was a long night. But fun.

And then I went to get the kids. Had my birthday party cookout from my parents, packed the kids up and went home Monday afternoon. And now I am home, and have been packing for the last day or so. Because I am moving tomorrow...yes, TOMORROW....luckily I have 2 weeks to get it all done and the old house clean...it'll be great. I have a few friends who are helping me out, and hey, I won't be the first Navy Wife in history to move without their husband available.

So I will be checking in but this will be my last post until Sunday at least. Hope Y'all have a great Labor Day weekend....

Thanks to Mr. Fab & Stu for guest posting this week for me! They were silly but I definitely enjoyed reading from afar! It was funny and...interesting....but they were awesome to do me a huge favor like that.....

LOVE YOU GUYS!!! *pink hugs n kisses*

I've got a better idea...

Okay, cancel the party. I've got bigger fish to fry.

Mmmm...fried fish.

Oh, right. Focus.

I have decided that it is my destiny to be a dictator. I think I would make a good one. Kind of a cross between Mussolini and Micheal Eisner.

I'm looking at each blog as a country. And so it is in the name of the Federal Republic of Fabuloustan that I claim Heart of Fire. I'll be setting Stu up as Territorial Governor. We'll need to keep Cissa around in some capacity to keep the natives from getting restless. Stu, you can find something for her to do, right? Trot her out once in a while to keep the pink masses docile.

It is from here that we will amass our troops along the border and begin our assault on Dr. John's Fortress. My intelligence reports indicate that his blog is the key. Once he falls, Cissa's blogroll is mostly mommy blogs, full of estrogen, enfamil, and dirty diapers. Our tanks should be able to roll unopposed, at least until we get to Mind of Mimi. We'll have to be careful there. She knows Thai kickboxing. She must not be underestimated.

We'll need to win their hearts and minds. Studies have shown that the best way to win the hearts and minds of mommy bloggers is with chocolate, Starbucks, and a 24 hour Oprah channel. I've got some of my best men on the project as we speak.

As an added precaution I have had Dr. Phil captured and interred in a prison camp (okay, we're actually holding him in an Arby's bathroom) and we are threatening to kill him (okay, hurt him. okay, hurt his feelings) if we encounter any resistance along the way.

Am I forgetting anything?

Feels good to have a plan.

Onward and upward!

Let's get ready for the party...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

WTF?

The stupid contractors haven't started on any of the blog changes I mandated earlier this week. How can I work like this? I can feel pink estrogen seeping into my body, making me soft inside, like a woman.

Actually, I kinda like it.

Anyway, we need to plan for Cissa's birthday party. As you can tell from the menacing countdown thingy at the bottom of this and every post, the time draws near. I am not sure what happens to the countdown thingy when it gets down to zero. It probably explodes. I bet I lose an eye.

"Thanks, Cissa! Happy Birthday! I'd love to stay and watch you cut the cake but my eye is hanging by its optic nerve and I'm thinking I better go get it looked at, and then I have to drive to the costume shop and get a friggin' eyepatch. Toodles!"

Notice how I said "friggin'" there? I could have said something else, but I am a guest here and I when I am a guest, I always make sure I am on my absolute best behavior. I feel it is not only common courtesy, but also serves as a valuable example to the young people out there. And after all, it is the young people that are our future, correct?

That's how I fuckin' roll, anyway.

I haven't discussed the party plans with Stu, yet, but I am pretty sure I can speak for him. First of all, I think we can all agree that the party needs to be clothing optional. I may not go all out, but I want to be able to strip down to my leopard print speedo if I feel the urge. Admit it, you're intrigued by that, aren't you?

A speedo and an eyepatch. I'm gonna get more tail than Jude Law.

We're going to need the following:

Three cases of Boone's Farm Strawberry Wine
Two tubs of Crisco
A pin the tail on the donkey game
Five gallons of grain alcohol
Nail polish remover
Four crack whores
Four regular whores
Eight bags of Cheez Puffs
A tube of anal lube
A human sacrifice (preferable a virgin)
A can of Pringles
A cow
Three Zippo lighters
Several small caliber pistols
Gum
A tank of nitrous oxide
Gatorade
A Vietnamese spin fuck chair
Eleven blankets
a burro

Plus everyone is responsible for bringing their low standards and diminished expectations.

I'll let Stu get to work on the list. There is no sense wasting a creative thinker on an implementation task.

See you at the party! And shhhhhh. It's a surprise.

Dr. Cissa's First Post

The following is a repost of Dr. Cissa Fireheart's first post on this blog, Wednesday, August 24th, 2005. For anyone who reads this blog, but doesn't blog themselves, let me tell you, blogging regularly is hard work. It takes discipline and courage, both of which are abundant in Cissa. She is a true gift to those in her life. Congrats, Dr. Cissa! Many happy returns of the day.

With much love,

Stu :-)

So I got this idea....

Everytime I start a blog, I end up being good about posting for about 2 weeks. Then, something in my life takes over, and it's lost to the endless sea of blogs on the internet So I am warning you now....I don't know when I will update.

So anyway, I think I am about to have one of those moments. My oldest starts Pre-K tomorrow. I have a family reunion this weekend. I still have to finish unpacking this house from our move (I moved in July from FL to CT). I am in a local production (I'm an actress of sorts). I want to get my oldest into girl scouts, join the PTO.

I just wanted to mention something else: In case y'all didn't know, Cissa is NOT my real name. It's my "alter ego". I play an online video game on my computer and this is my main character's name. Those who know me - do not be freaked! I just couldn't think of any other name at the moment....Plus I didn't want to have my real name. I will probably only mention my Kid's names as real, even use my husband's video game character's name...It's easier that way...

~Cissa

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY HEART OF FIRE!!

It's my dear Blog's Birthday, YAY!! She's 1 year old today!!

Over my first year here, I have met a ton of people, made some great friends, and even brought some people to the blogging community! I've gone thtough a ton of templates, some were OK, and then there's my girly, sparkly awesome one that Pixie made......

I've raved, ranted, said some nasty things, shared some stuff maybe I shouldn't have....and a few times had to hold back on things I wanted to say on here....

But through it all, I have remained myself. I made it through a whole year of this insanity of Blogging!

WOOT!!!

Thanks to all my friends, readers - those who leave comments and those who don't, and to all the people who have made this experience so awesome for me....I sound like I am making a speech at the Acadamy Awards or something!

ANYWAY....

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY, HEART OF FIRE!!!

And now, Year Two can commence!

Dancing Monkeys

I thought about posting my stance as a proponent of the US Constitution and my deep love of the First Amendment, but then I thought, why not promote far less important things!

Pandora
Pandora is custom-tailored streaming radio, brilliantly done. The interface is very easy to deal with, and the intelligent music choices are magnificent.

Google Earth Sightseeing
I'm a huge fan of satellite imagery, and Google Sightseeing makes it easy to check out the best stuff. It's fan-based, which makes it pure, and it's pretty random, which alleviates the boredom.

BoingBoing
BoingBoing is a collective blog of four science geeks who post the most interesting stuff I've ever gotten into. The folks who make up BoingBoing are also brilliant, socially-conscious netizens, which makes it easy for me to support them. Dig.

Things are gonna change around here...

Okay, Cissa! Have a great time! Don't worry about a thing. Bye-bye now!

Okay, she's gone. Boy, that was a long hug she gave me. I think she grabbed my butt. That was a little awkward.

Okay...let's get to work. I can't stay here unless I make a few changes. A lot of this pink is gonna have to go. It hurts my eyes. It's burning into my retinas. And I'm not sure, but I think it's shrinking my testicles as well.

I like the title, and the flames on the banner are pretty cool. But the big pink heart has to go. I want it replaced with...zombies. Six, no...seven zombies. In a conga line. And the zombies have to be on fire. And one has a funny hat on.

Red and black. That's what I want for the template. Something with some balls, you know? Something that grabs ya.

And all these hearts in the sidebars: cut 'em loose. Replace them with dancing monkeys. People like monkeys. Have one of the monkeys be wearing a pair of lederhosen and have another one kicking a puppy in the ass. I don't care what the rest of them are doing.

That carrot thing in the right sidebar. Replace it with a dildo. A black one. I only want products displayed that I use myself. I'm no hypocrite.

Toward that end, let's see if we can't get some ads for Spermamax, Vietnamese Spin-Fuck Chairs, and Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper up and running.

This is making me thirsty. Stu, get me a drink, willya?

Huh? Lemurs? Nah, this place isn't ready for lemurs. Besides, I can't spare any right now, I'm shorthanded. I've got three out sick, five on vacation, two on maternity leave, and Little Oscar is in jail again.

Okay, that should do it for now. Let's get these changes implimented. Don't worry, it's all authorized. I take full responsibility. I'm gonna go on home for now. But I'll be back.

I'll be back.

I Hear Bells in the Distance....

Well folks, today is the day I take off to RI to help my best friend Nessa prepare for her wedding day. I am so excited to be doing this. I had a very small wedding back in 1998, and this is so much bigger. But I know it is going to be beautiful. Nessa will be beautiful, and I am going to watch my best friend vow her life to the man that she loves. I'm tearing up just writing about it. I am so excited to help her with this day and to be there for her. It's like...next to my wedding day and the birth of my children, one of the greatest honours I think I will ever have.....

So, I am leaving Heart of Fire in the care of these two crazy guys, Mr. Fab & Stu. All I ask is that they clean up thier mess and the dancing girls and Mongolian gay pornstars are gone before I return next week! I will check in of course, and most definitely will post something on my Blog Birthday on Thursday.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy Mr. Fab & Stu. They really are fun! Thanks to The Guys for helping me out this week! *BIG OLE HUGS*

I'm off to finish packing and head to Wedding Central!

To Guest Blog, Perchance, To Dream

Hi. How are you? How's life treating you?

I don't think we've met. My name is Stu. What's yours?

I received the honor of guest-blogging for Dr. Cissa a few weeks ago, and I've been looking forward to it. I can't wait to be inspired to post something interesting. I'm sure it'll happen. Any second now, boom, like an apple on the forehead, inspiration will whack me upside my Broca's area and a topnotch blog post will spill forth from my keyboard. Maybe. We'll see.

Still reading? Cool.

If you don't know me from a shovel of pencil shavings, my blog may prove to be informative. Who knows. Feel free to ask questions. I'm an open book, if not a tabula rasa.

Thanks,

Stu

Explination: Patience is Virtue...

except when you are waiting for a phone call.....

OK, so, a lil while back, Hubby pulled into a port. The calls back and forth that the guys were somewhere was exciting and made me anticipate my call....then I waited, and I waited, and I WAITED!!!

At one point, I was so hurt and stuff that I actually was threatening to my friends that Hubby was going to lose access to an ATM for the rest of his port calls. Yep. I got really really mad. Especially hearing that my hubby's co-workers were calling their wives multiple, yes MULTIPLE times. And all I had gotten was a large withdrawral from the bank that was more than it was supposed to be (Apparently Hubby doesn't understand exchange rates).

nearly 3/4 of a day passed....

Then I got my call. It was a lovely 45 minute call that for the first 10 minutes consisited of me verbally tearing Hubby a new opening in his backside. (it's Sunday, I'm trying not to be too crude). Yeah....

So another day and a half (35 hours to be exact, which sounds like a lot heh) passes and although I was much calmer this time around, I started wondering if Hubby was gonna call again this time around. He did thankfully, and I enjoyed a lovely, almost hour on the phone. All in all not too bad considering My Hubby is actually doing more than some of the others because he's good like that -- and some other reasons, but most of you would be lost and I can't explain specifics about the boat anyway....so just know, Hubby is working more than most, but my phone calls have been very long one shots, and honestly I like it better that way. I get a quality conversation with him.....pretty doggone nice.

So that's why my post was a little odd the other day. Thought you'd all like to know.....

and now that we are all so Happy again....

11 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!!

Here I am...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Hey. What's up? Mr. Fabulous here. I just popped over from my usual digs.

Cissa wanted me to intoduce myself. I'll be pitching in while she's in Stockholm getting the sex change operation.

Ah crap, I don't think I was supposed to say anything about that.

When Cissa asked me about guest posting this week, I told her that I needed to be able to play to my strengths, which are swearing copiously, posting pictures of gay Mongolian porn, and advocating the violent overthrow of the U.S. government.

Bad news. Cissa put the kibosh on the porn.

I'll be sharing guest posting duties with some dude who just got out of prison. I think this is part of his community service. Me? I'm here because Cissa is a close personal friend of mine, and as I am in between gay Mongolian porn movie shoots, I find I have a little time on my hands.

I am a little nervous, because never has my prose appeared on such a pink backdrop. I hope this doesn't affect my manhood. I need to be able to perform when we start shooting Llama Loving Sluts of the Gobi Desert II in a few weeks.

You know it's gonna be classy because it has a Roman numeral in the title.

Okay, I'll be seeing you guys later. And um...if you see the other guy, don't make direct eye contact with him. That just encourages him.

Just When You Think All Hope Is Lost...

You get a bit of your faith back. I thought I had lost something very special. I thought it was just pushed aside and forgotten, and all the effort and hope I had brought to my life had gone. I thought I was going to go crazy.

And then I got my Wake-Up Call this morning.

Have I mentioned I hate currency rate exchange??

To those who don't understand this post, I am sorry. To those who do, Praise God! I really thought I was going to lose my mind until 5:42 this morning. But it's all good and I am happy again!

This post sounds odd reading it from a stranger's perspective. I wish I could clarify.

I also wish I could take a trip to Europe......

Invasion of the Guest Bloggers!

I have had two volunteers to write on Heart of Fire starting on Wednesday, and they both are great guys. I have pretty much given them free reign over the Blog, but I will be checking in from Wedding Central from time to time to make sure they don't cause too much insanity!

In the next few days they'll be posting an introduction of themselves, and although I am pretty sure I have both of them on my blogroll, they will still be linking their blog. At least, I asked them to, hehe....

I've got a trip to the beach, and some crafty things to do today with some boat wives....but I am checking in real quick to let you all know about The Guys (as I have just dubbed them). So you don't think someone hacked my account or something. Yep, The Guys are in town...look out ladies! (OK, so they are both married, but that's entirely besides the point!)

oh and last but not least

My New Look

Before.....

After.....

So what do you all think? So far friends have given a positive response. I was actually going for something a little less dramatic, but the girl at the salon said this would look best on me. I have to say I agree......

I can't believe I forgot to say this earlier....

15 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

It's Not Like I've Been Terribly Busy....

Because Honestly I haven't. I mean sure, I have been cleaning, packing, and running errands. But I also have found the time to hang out with friends, and level my character on EverQuest2.

Yesterday I did some shopping. Someitmes I think Wal-Mart and Target are the Devil. I spent way more than I should have. Oh well...just means less booze at the wedding LOL

I got Nessa's Wedding Present. I think she'll not be surprised at what I chose to get her. She'll think it's is SO ME...I mean it was off her registry and all, but still....totally Me. Heh. Just gotta wrap the honking big box!

Vanessa's wedding is in 10 days. WOW. I am excited. I drop Kaity off with my parents in a week. Then I am child free for 5 days! CRAZY!!!

I wish I had more to write about, but life has just been...rather ordinary! It's a nice change to have some ordinarty stuck in there with the insanity I have had to deal with as of late.

I have head from Hubby a few times. He's overworked, underslept and hardly eats. Prisoners have it better than Him. Well except that whole "could get raped or killed while in there" thing. HEHE.

I'm off to get some boxes today and to take some pictures to send off to Hubby. Hope You All are having great week!

YES!! It Pays to Be Nice Sometimes...

Well the housing issue is almost resolved. I have been very fortunate. Thanks to my patience, and my polite phone calls to GMH, along with one very frustrated visit after a nasty phone call FROM Navy Housing Office, I am getting what I wanted -- a 3 BR house WITH a garage!

Now, I know the street it is on, but because the family is still there and doesn't vacate until the week of Nessa's wedding, I am not supposed to know the address. But I do have to sign an "acceptance" piece of paperwork today to file with Housing so I don't get another rude and vile phone call. That paperwork will have the address. So I'm just gonna drive by my new house....that's not gonna hurt anyone, right? Not gonna go inside or anything....and if I just happen to have a friends who have houses on that street who live on the exact same side of the duplex and take a look to see their layout again so I can do some planning on where to put stuff, I'm not breaking any rules, right? hehehe....

The only catch to this whole thing is that once the place is vacated, I have about 10 days to wait to move in, because Maintenance has to repaint, etc. So....that puts my move right around my Birthday/Labor Day weekend. I am not sure how many people are going to be able to help me then, but I certainly am going to be trying my hardest to get some people together. My last resort? Making a call to the Ombudsman who can find some people she knows....

My other problem? I will be moving approximately the week school starts...talk about confusing for me and Emily!! I suppose I'll just have to get through it though. I am excited. I can't wait to see my new place. I can't wait to be able to store things and not have them get ruined by the weather or insects and termites shavings.....oh to have a dining room and my own bathroom!! Holy Moses - a bathroom DOWNSTAIRS!! I am foaming at the mouth just thinking about it!!!

So that's my happy news.....oh yes, and certainly cannot forget --

21 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

It's Quiet

Kait is in bed. Em is at my parents. It's quiet. And has been noticably more quiet since my return home on Sunday. It's kinda creeping me out. The insomnia is kicking in, and although I usually get about 7 hours of sleep, it's usually fitfull and full of odd/bad/freaky/extremly vivid dreams.....

I think I might go to the doc again about my sleep issues....if I don't get much more by the time the School year starts next month....

23 Days Until My Birthday

yeah, it's kinda blah.....I just don't have the nergy tomake it all cute and happy right now....

If Only the BRIDE Remembered It All

The Bachelorette Party was a blast! A lot of jerks, not Nessa's true friends, cancelled in the 24 hours before the party. One person didn't even bother to let her know, she simply just didn't show. That's OK, we had a good time without them.....

Cissa, Nessa & Missy

Nessa, Mom and Kathy

Nessa and our Party Bus Driver & Friend, Mike T!

So we got to the club. We met a bunch of my friends, everyone was drinking, dancing, havigna great time!! Especially Vanessa. I got one picture of the night's events which should tell you all what the night was like....

YES, He IS looking at her chest!!

So a lot happened that I promised would not get mentioned on the Blog. I will say, that as promised, drinking, dancing and semi-debautchery did occur. Oh yes, and I actually lost my temper with Nessa at one point, because she kocked a FULL bottle of beer on me, soaking me, my dress, ruining my make-up and pretty much, embarrassing the hell out of me....Imagine my surprise Sunday morning when a sore spot on my shoulder that is quite raised upon touch froces me to look in the mirror, and I see....

Yes, THAT is from the FULL beer bottle. It HURTS!! and I made Nessa take a couple more pics of it for me...

Welll...she DID apologize 100 times....I suppose I will forgive her.....

But I will be reminding her about it for the next 20 years! LOL

Yes Nessa doesn't recall a whole lot of things after the party bus ride. I actually think that is a good thing.....Nessa, it was a good time, and I am glad I could be there for it!! See you in a couple weeks for YOUR WEDDING!!!!WOOOOOOOT!!

oh yes, and last thing....

24 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!

Ladies Night!!

Glitter and MySpace Layouts

Today is the day!! Nessa's Bachelorette Party is tonight!! I am so excited, I can't wait!! I have a few games planned, but mostly drinking, and semi-debauchery is planned. And dancing, lots of dancing! I got a sexy little dress. I can't believe I actually bought it. I will try to take pictures. hehe.

Emily is coming with me and stay with a sitter in RI. That's because tomorrow, my dad and step-mum pick her up at Nessa's and take her back to Martha's Vineyard (a small island 7 miles off the coast of Cape Cod) -- FOR THREE WEEKS!! WOOOOT!!

So it'll just be me and Kaity til I leave for Nessa's Wedding. I am actually kinda psyched. Kaity is a bit more easy going in the entertainment department, as far as keeping her entertained. Plus, she likes to snuggle. I will miss Emmy's laughter. And her funny little Mini-Adult comments. And her ability to pick up on stuff I am tlaking about. They each have their qualities that I admire. It will be a little weird. I have never been away from either child this long in thier lives. I know she will be fine. But she is my baby....but I won't hear fighting for 3 weeks!! Good Lord, THAT will be a FIRST in this house!

For those who are wondering about my health and haven't called or e-mailed -- I feel sooooo much better after 4 days of meds. Plus the decrease in temperature and humidity around here has stopped aggrevating my chest and breating. I feel about 95% normal! YAY!!

Well gotta start the day. Watching my friend Jen's kids at 9 or so. She's meeting us at Foxwoods at Club BB King too. If any of you live in New England and wanna meet us there? 10 pm or so. Look for the girl with the veil - that's Nessa. I'll be the one pouring drinks down her throat! HAHA!!

Oh yes, one more thing....

26 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!!

WELCOME Dr. John's Friends!

As Dr. John has sent all his JC Points people here on the Marathon will say WELCOME TO YOU!!!

Last night, after grocery shopping and hacking up a lung or two, I finally broke down and went to the emergency room for my chest cold. I was told I have a bronchial infection, and ear in fection and when shown to the docs, an unrelated, fungal rash. -- LOVELY huh? I got a breathing treatment in the hospital, which helped immensely. To cure me, I got antibiotics, an inhaler, fungal cream (for the rash) and good ole Motrin for my pains. The meds made sleep an oddity last night...or maybe it was just the sweltering 90 heat in my house.....

I miss Florida. Central Air in every home....*sigh*

I have lots of stuff to do today and have callled in a friend to help me with house work, as I am running slow....gotta pack Emmy to go to the Vineyard this weekend for the rest of the summer!!

Have a great day and Welcome to Dr. John's friends!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIMI!!

Today is the 27th my friend and neighbor, Mimi!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIMI!!

on a related Note....

30 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY!!

Sick

Huuby's departing gift to me and the kids? A chest cold that leaves me sounding like a goose laying an egg when I talk. Been a rough weekend, and now am getting ready for some craziness this weekend...if I am not sick that is......

will write later...need to hack up a fluid filled lung now, excuse me....
