Come my little friends, As we all sing a happy little working song...

It's a Bullet Monday... too tired to write a full post.

  • I made almost nothing for tips last night. The bar was dead at 10:30 pm and I was forced to sit there til Midnight. More Sucktacular Sunday.

  • Today the weather is crappy again, and it is keeping me in a foul mood. I love Autumn, but I hate cold, cloudy, rain-looming days.

  • I have to work again today, of course, and at the moment, it is the bright spot in my dreary day. I really cannot wait to be there. I never imagined I would find a job I liked so dang much!

  • I seriously need to get some more music for my iPod. Or make up some good playlists. Since I can listen at work, it's helped me stay focused. I work better with music.

  • My anniversary is Sunday. Misk got me my present already and I haven't a clue what to get him. we weren't supposed to be getting presents for each other this year, even though it's a milestone. Then he gets me "Guitar Hero Aerosmith". I asked him what he wants. his answer? A NewEgg.com gift certificate. How original. I think I'll get him a new watch, his is falling apart.

  • I miss my friends. I was invited to hang with them yesterday, but couldn't because I had to work. I think they are all coming to the Renaissance Faire with me on Saturday though. A girl can hope! I'm lonely without them.

  • I can't figure out how to get Blogger's bullets to delete in-between so I can space stuff out. this frustrates me...oh well.

That's all for today. Have a great Monday.

Thank you clarity. Thank you, thank you silence....

Amazingly, 53 hours later, I feel much better about things than in my last post...well....mostly...

To those of you who commented and sent me private messages, thank you. Your support and empathy helped me pick up my broken mental pieces and get my ass out of the slump. I will forever be grateful to you all.

I worked Sunday night and made a nice little piece of cashage. It paid for all but 2 of Kaity's presents....and a few things I needed...including a change in myself....

yep it's RED....

Not quite the shade I was going for mind you, and belive me it was a shock when I started to put it on...then when I washed and dried I expected it to be more..natural looking....I was thinking of all the things I could compare it to:

A tomato...like someone dumped paint on my head....Hawaiian Punch red....a red crayon....a stop sign...a fire engine...I could go on for a while.

Misk and I went to lunch on Monday and when he pulled up to get me I was outside reading a book....first words out of his mouth were "Hey Red!"

I worked at the restaurant last night and got mixed reviews of my new color from the regulars. Mostly it was shock, but some people really liked it. Some people asked me what the hell I was thinking. My standard answer? "I needed a change." Most people didn't realize I meant in more than just my haircolor.

Anyway...I'm back for the moment, although I might be slightly irregular on the posting the rest of this week. I have work the next two days during the day, cheer practice twice, baking for Kaity's snack at school on Friday...and of course, the Bug's Party...me, Misk, and about 30 other people at Chucke E. Cheese's....I just hope there is some good karma stored up from Saturday and we're the only people in there because it's spectacular weather and no one wants to be indoors anywhere.

On a final note...Dawg has awarded me with something I truly thought I never would get:

The "I Love Your Blog Award". I am touched that he listed me, and also mentioned that he hoped my hiatus wouldn't be too long.....Thank You, Dawg. It made my day.....Give Poppy my love and make sure she gives you my love...I hope I can make it to FL so I can see you in November. I'll get around to listing people sometime, but I really need to get off my depressed fat ass and get some stuff done around this house.

Back to the grind, for the moment.

She's got a ticket to ride, but she don't care.....

Dear Internet Friends,

On November 1, 2008, the following AWESOME EVENT is happening in Altamonte Springs, Florida: (click on the picture to see the details of the event, after you read this entry of course)

And although I have tried to deny it...I no longer can....

I. want. to. GO!!

Here's the problem: I am poor. I don't have the money for a ticket. And although I would have a *free* place to stay (father-in-law live 30 minutes away in Holopaw), I don't have the money to pay for a plane ticket....

Here's where YOU, MAH INTERNETZ FRIENDZ, can help!

At the bottom of the Huge Announcement, is a little Pay Pal link where you can BUY a raffle ticket for the small sum of $7.00. The cool thing is? You can SPONSOR SOMEONE -- like your good ole internetz freind, Cissa Fireheart. Here's the catch: the raffle tickets have to reach 100 before the free plane ticket Grand Prize is even a possibility...And before you ask, YES, I have already purchased a few tickets of my own....

I think I am gonna make a little button too...put it over there to the right ------->

I can hear you all now. But WHY, Cissa? Why would you want to go to this weirdo's house? Why should I spend a whopping $7.00 on YOU to have a good time???

Well, here are a few reasons I so desperately want to go.

1. Miss Britt, Hellohahanarf, Karl, and Dave2 are all gonna be there. I've met the first 3 people, and they rock. They are great. And I would love to meet Dave and Avitable (the party host). I dunno who all else is going, but I reckon it would be a LOT of cool people I have had the chance to talk/comment/read their blogs over the last few years.

2. I love to dress up, and already have a costume I could wear! Hell, I have 2 to chose from, and if I really think about it....possibly 3! How cool is that? And it's a frickin' party where EVERYONE is gonna be dressed up! I have never been to an adult costume party, and I really wanna go!

3. I'm technically a FL resident. I love FL. Wouldn't you want to see Cissa to be happy to be HOME? Even if it is only for 24 hours?

4. How cool would it be for Misk to have an awesome birthday present, like say, getting to pick me up at the airport after a long trip away (ok I'm stretching, but work with me people), and we get to do one of those kisses you see in the movies, where he tilts me back and is all romantic and stuff? Wouldn't that be awesome? Huh? C'mon, it would be wicked cool!

5. You like me and you just wanna do something nice....the pay it forward thing....for a nominal amount.

Please sponsor me, Cissa Fireheart.....C-i-s-s-a F-i-r-e-h-e-a-r-t...in the Avitable.com Neverwas Fair Raffle. BUT HURRY!! TICKET SALES END ON SEPTEMBER 20TH!! Thank you!

I am done begging. We now continue with your regularly scheduled blog posts.....

I voted...did you???

The Hot Blogger 2009 Calendar Voting has begun! There are two actual categories, one for the girls and one for the guys. While perusing the nominations I saw that the NYC Watchdog has been nominated. So you know what I did right? I totally casted my vote for him because he is a total Hawt Dawg!!! Voting is VERY easy. There is no registration, its a simple poll, and all you have to do is check off right by his name! They couldn’t have made it any easier for us to make the Hawt Dawg into our Mr. October for 2009!!! So throw the Hawt Dawg a bone and help me out by voting for him here!!!

In other news...the Minions begin school tomorrow! WOOOOOOOTT! Pictures will be posted tomorrow of course :)

What a long strange trip it's been.....

...so, I didn't get the job. I'm OK about it though.....it wasn't meant to be apparently.

I appreciate that you all left messages of encouragement on Twitter, and email and comments. I just didn't have the time to answer back. I had one hell of a weekend.

Thursday, my kids had their school and sports physicals. That meant a great chunk of my day was spent at the NACC. Kaity got 5 shots, but she did great. She even asked them for sticker for her sister so Emily wouldn't be jealous. how sweet!

Friday...well Friday I was up at 8 am, so I could be at Borders before 9 am so I could get my wristband for the Breaking Dawn release party....I met with Brandi & Kerri and my kids, and was first in line! woot! As I was leaving, Brandi asked if I wanted to go with her to Lake Compounce, her treat. I was up for it, as long as I was at Borders by 10 PM, so we changed, packed some towels, and headed there. After an incredibly crazy drive (high speeds, unfamiliar area, me the defensive driver do not make a good combo) we had a great day of rides, food, water fun, then headed back (I let Kerri drive home cause I hate driving at night) and I literally dropped the kids, flew into a change of clothes and headed out to Borders!

I met Brandi and Kerri again at Borders and we hung out until 12:01, when I got my book, flew home and started to read Breaking Dawn at about 12:30. I finally passed out around 5:00 am and slept til 12pm, when Misk decided that I should be woken up because he wanted to go to lunch. I sent him and the kids off, and read some more, after many interruptions from the kids, I finally was able to finish the book.

If you have read any of the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, you will understand that this was the most anticipated book sine the last Harry potter. I am still, 3 days later, processing everything that happened in Breaking Dawn. My Lord & Lady, it was AWESOME!!

I got a call from Brandi about our Saturday night plans, showered, and headed out to meet the Ladies. We had dinner, then went back to Brandi's to change, gussy up and headed to Shrine, the newest nightclub at MGM grand at Foxwoods. It was smaller than I was anticipating, but there was no lack of good looking people, male and female, and I was feeling particularly...uncomfortable about my size, until about halfway through the night, and after about 5 drinks that I finally stopped giving a damn, and danced my little heart out.

Apparently the key to attracting guys to dance with is confidence (something I tend forget after being married for almost 10 years), because after that I was dancing with attractive men all night long. It was a definite boost to my ego, and I had such a good time! Erin got extremely tipsy, and we all had a lot of laughs on the way home at each other's expense, because we all were flying high from the night. We finally got to bed about 3 am, with Erin deciding that talking until she passed out, in her groggy state, was the way to go hehe (sorry Erin, I had to mention it!)

Sunday morning, we were actually all up by about 9:30am, but after 5 women are up, showered, and out the door, it was nearly 10:45 and we still had to go to the store for food for the Lughnasadh Sabbat Ritual. The location was a 1 1/2 hour drive from there, so, by the time we finally got there, got started and started the ritual it was nearly 2. I was asked to be a "maiden" to invoke one of the Elements, and I was honored. I invoked Air from the East. It was a powerful ritual, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as per usual. After the ritual was our usual feast and hanging out, and by the time we left it was 7:30 PM, then another 1.5 hours back to Brandi's and another 45 minutes home (I had to stop and get Misk and the kids dinner because he was too damn lazy to drive the 1.5 miles to KFC).

After arriving home, it was about 9pm, and I was just too tired to update, so I watched Army Wives with Misk and went to sleep...and that brings us to the here and now :)

So that was my weekend. Crazy but absolutely loads of fun. The job search continues today, and hopefully, I will find a few prospects :)

Have a great Monday, all!

Stop! Hammer time! (insert Rick James sample here)

The hammer on housecleaning is falling. I must have a decent looking place for tomorrow when my parents come to get the children for a week. They will only see the downstairs, so it is imperative it not look like a shithole. or I will hear about it for the next 5 years...then I will remind my father I eloped and he did not have to deal with my wedding, and all will be well.

I am going to see The Dark Knight tonight, and do not plan on doing anything to delay it. My Christian Bale obsession will be temporarily quelled.

Misk went back to work today, thank the Lord and Lady. He was getting on my nerves. 24/7 around your spouse does not work for me, unless he's been gone for 6 weeks to 6 months....

My friend, zbabygirl, had her baby yesterday. He was 3 1/2 weeks early. Her water broke, and I didn't hear anything for nearly 24 hours. I will admit, I was freaking out, fearing that she had experienced my worst fear -- that she would lose her baby, how I lost Mae 8 years ago. I am very happy to report, my fears were all for naught.

I picked up the funniest onesies for him today. I can't wait to see him tonight before the movie!

Babies are great. I can't wait til my kids have them!

GO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT!! MAKE MY HOLLYWOOD CRUSH POPULAR!

Popular, I know about popular. It's not about aptitude, it's the way you're viewed....

After catching up on some Blog Drama today, that I was blissfully ignorant about, I'm going to target myself. I want the attention. And also? I've got nothing else to blog about.

Yep, I went to BrittCon, and I had a blast. It's a shame more people didn't come, but you know what? We still had fun. And even better? I made some awesome new friends.

Yep, I think Britt, Avitable, Jester, Hilly, Hellohahanarf, Dave2, Karl and a bunch of others are the cat's pajama's...seriously, they are frickin awesome people. Why some low-life, bored, crab-infesterd CUNT (she must be in order to be such pissy person) feels the need to pick on my friends is beyond me.

If you don't like these people, then don't fucking read their blog. Period.

I actually would love for that cunt to make a post about me. What's she gonna say? I'm a bored house-wife? Check....she'll fail to mention I am actively looking for a job on several job websites and sending out about 3 resume's a week (honestly, there's CRAP for my field in a little Navy town). But yes, I am bored...which is why I sometimes blog, and use Twitter, and whatever else.

Maybe she'll say I am a bad wife & parent because I love to go off and meet bloggers and bitch about how much my kids drive me insane. Check. Only she'll leave out the fact that I actually invited my husband to accompany me, and he declined. She'll also not write about how I virtually left the blogosphere for a week to spend on a vacation on Martha's Vineyard for some much enjoyed family time with my kids and how I have so many memories of my kids together I know I shed a tear or two in several moments watching them play and have summer fun.

Oh I know! She'll make some mention of my religious beliefs! Being a Wiccan and all, there's loads of material for her to go off about! I'm a heathen, I'm going to hell, I'm a sinner, blah blah blah...Check. And I bet she'll think I will cower in fear of her awesome Christian-ness? Because you know, having a whole blog slamming people you secretly are jealous of is one way to show what a perfect little follower of Jesus you are...In fact I think she breaks a few commandments herself...Nope, that's The Golden Rule....dang, being a Pagan and all, what the hell do I know? Oh right. I know she'll get her malicious mud-slinging back threefold.

Wait, I've got it! She'll talk about what a fat whore I am, because I am overweight and I participate in Pay Per Post! CHECK AND CHECK. Wow, how original! I'm so upset, honest...I think I might cry. Because isn't it obvious I am totally unaware of how gross I am? I mean how could my husband possibly want to fuck me without being scared of being smothered by my large and natural chest??? Everyday, almost folks...sometimes twice in one day to make up for a missed day. And as for being fat? Why not let me worry about that...since I have shed 8 lbs in the last month, I'm looking a lot better, I think, and that's just the beginning. Just ask Misk, he'll tell you....(and I apologize for the TMI about my sex life, but sometimes, you gotta give TMI for attention, you know?)

Honestly, if this cunt posted about me? It would only bring me traffic. I could use it. I also could use more comments, so maybe some of her troll-friends could stop by and leave comments? I'll even leave them up, I swear! I love it when bullies try to bother me. Really. Just ask my last FRG. I bet they could tell you how I handle bullies. Muahaha....

Anyway, to my friends who have been targeted by this unsavory person? Don't let the crabby cunt get you down! I mean really, if she got you down, she might infest you with her disease. EWWWWW!! And figuratively? She's not worth it. You do have friends, and followers, and stuff. You ARE rock stars. This cunt is just jealous she's not.

Either that or she's fucking brilliant, because she's getting all the attention now.

I wish I could do that -- minus the itchy, festering, infectious vaginal disease, of course.

I'm going to go back to my boring life. It's Washing Wednesday, after all!

I do hope I haven't offended anyone. *snicker* If I have? Oh please, feel free to comment, or make a nasty blog post about it.

It's called BrittCon, SUCK IT! (Day 1)

OK, well maybe you haven't been waiting for it, as Britt, Karl, Becky, Robin and Dawg have all given BrittCon recaps. I know it's over a week late, and you all are tired of hearing about it. But just for posterity, and since I promised to do it...here we go....

Thursday - 6/26/08

I drove to New Haven that evening to park my car (for free) at Tink's house. We hung out, smoked cigarettes and drank the bottle of wine I brought. My friend Elizabeth, The Queen of Etiquette told me once, that Emily Post (the Empress of Etiquette) wrote something to the effect of : "A good guest ALWAYS brings a gift for the host(ess). You can't go wrong with Flowers or a good bottle of wine." So I always bring wine when I am a guest at someone's home!

So about 11 PM I crashed on the couch. The End

Friday - 6/27/08

at 5:30 AM I was woken to my LOUD ASS cell phone ringing. Bleary-eyed and half blind (glasses were on the table) I look to see it is Becky calling. She informs me that her flight as cancelled and she won't be getting in to NYC until about the time Britt and Karl are. Lunch plans with Becky are now null and void, but I get over it pretty quickly. OK, I go back to sleep for an hour and a half.

Waking back up, I dress, have coffee and a bagel at Tink's and we head out to Union Station. I took the train to NYC, happily listening to my iPod. My only issue? I am sitting in the opposite way as the train is traveling. Slight headache from motion sickness ensues, but lots of water helps me get over it. I arrive to Grand Central Station, and luckily, Lexington Avenue is one of the exits. I hoof the 5 blocks to my hotel partially uphill, and drop off luggage, call Misk to let him know I got to the City alright and haven't been mugged yet.

I decided to take a little stroll around the area to see how far away B,B, & K are from me. I get about 1/2 way there, realize I'll have to walk back to my hotel eventually to get their gifts and decide to grab food, since I haven't eaten since 7 am and it's now about 12:30PM. Still listening away to my iPod, like a Real New Yorker, I grab Micky D's, becaus eI don't want to eat a REAL New York meal without my friends! I hoof it back to the hotel, eat, and wait....and wait...and check the watch about 100 times, smoke about 5 cigarettes and FINALLY get a hold of BB&K -- they are in the taxi and on their way to the hotel.

I get myself a subway all day metro card (saves time and money, really) and head over. I get about 5 calls from BB&K trying to figure out where I am. Eventually I get to their hotel, and there they are! WOOOT!

Rich, who is from NY, meets up with us soon after, and then after checking into their hotel and stuff, we head off to be tourists. Now, this is not my first trip to NYC, and although I do take some pictures, I have to admit, that watching BB&K "ohhh" and "ahhh" and snap pictures of just about every building and sign made me laugh a lot. me and Rich thoroughly enjoyed seeing BB&K get all excited about it all.

We entered Grand Central, and more pictures were taken. We then decided to grab some food, and went down to the food court. I had Chili. it was damn good. We talked and talked, and then walked around some more, as we headed out. Rich had to leave us and head home while we were still in the food court. We stopped in the market place, which stank of fish, and was crowded as all hell. But BB&K loved it, and more pictures were taken and I think Becky bought something. Then it was on to Lexington Avenue, to my hotel where I needed to actually check-in, freshen up and change, as I had pretty much sweat to death all day, I felt nasty. We headed out once more and back through the streets taking more pictures. Britt had decided that her feet were killing her, so we went to Payless, near GST, and she found wicked cute flip flop sandals. They were hot pink and had sparklies. Very cute. It is then that the infamous phrase was uttered by (I believe) Britt:

"It's called BrittCon, not KarlCon, bitch! There will be shopping! SUCK IT!"

We then headed toward where the Bus Tour place was, back over to the west side of town, stopping at Ben & Jerry's for some delicious smoothies. We got our 48 hour tickets, and met up with Dawg. After having walked all day, my feet were killing me and I wanted to sit. So did Karl, so we crossed 8th Avenue to Starbucks, clamored for chairs, and chatted to Dawg. And of course, twittered like the Dickens about just about everything.

I am amazed at the stories Dawg told us about 9/11. It was everything I could do not to cry several times during the telling of his viewpoint of the day. It was so sad to hear about his EMT partner, who was the only one from his company not to survive. Seriously, thinking about it now? almost 2 weeks later, I still get a pit in my stomach. My phone rang and I excused myself, my girls wanted to say good night, and that they missed me. Sheesh, not even 24 hours and they were already calling! No, really, I didn't mind. They were so sweet, of course.

Back in to Starbucks for some lighter chat, and of course, more twattering. More pictures were taken, and we went outside to "make out". That's code for a Smoke Break. Finally we decided we better high-tail it to the Tour Bus Night Tour Pick-up. We said goodbye to Dawg, since he would be meeting Poppy who drove in that night from France. Then we got to the tour. Well the line, anyway. We waited for about 20 minutes and finally got on the bus, the lights of times Square lit the place so much, you can barely tell it was night. Lots more pictures were taken, and I realized my batteries were dying. I needed to remember to buy some the next morning.

At first the tour guide was alright. Then, he just got boring, and noted random facts that really, I don't think anyone cared about. I was sitting next to Becky, and the people behind us were bitching about her hair flying in their face. Whatever. She had a slight headache, i think, and that's why she didn't tie it back. They were German, and they muttered about it to each other the whole night. It kinda ruined the tour a bit, but I got over it.

I didn't realize it, but we were going to be going over the Manhattan Bridge. I am not a fan of bridges, and we were in an open top bus. I was freaking out. My fear is crippling, actually. When driving over the Gold Star bridge here in CT to get to New London, I grip my steering wheel so hard my knuckles turn white, and that's when I am in charge of the driving. I threw Becky my camera, asked her to take some pictures, and put my head down, holding the back of Karl's seat for dear life. I also silently prayed to the Goddess that I would not die. I didn't, so I guess it worked. After I calmed down we got to see some nice views of Brooklyn and stuff. more pictures. Then the damn boring ass tour guide decided to talk about CUNY - City University of New York. I dunno what the hell he was saying, but almost everything in Brooklyn has some friggin' connection to CUNY, I swear.

Back over the Manhattan Bridge, where I once again cling to the seat in front of me for dear life and put my head down. I am sure BB&K thought I was some sort of freak, but oh well. It's a fear, and that's how I handle it. I could have cried or something, but, nah, clinging in fear is more my style. We headed through Greenwich Village, and stuff, learned about the cast iron buildings, and how they helped to make NYC grow so quickly, and soon were coming up on a stop about 3 blocks from my hotel. I decided to get off the bus there, so I would have less to walk that night. It was a good idea. I said goodnight to BB&K, and got off (TWKS).

After the buss pulled away, I got out my trusty pink iPod, popped the headset in my ears, turned the volume down, in case I was being followed (hey, I do have some other fears, being mugged in NYC is one of them), and started to walk. got to the hotel, showered, listened to the iPod until 1 am, since I couldn't sleep, and finally went to sleep....sort of....

at 2:30 AM, my "roommate" who had just checked in, apparently, banged her way into the room and turned down the A/C. This did not please me, but I pretended to still be asleep, because I knew I was getting up at 7, and was in for a long day. I faked waking up after she banged back in from a trip to the restroom, semi-introduced myself, fund out the chick's name was CeeCee (heh, CeeCee and Cissa, coincidence?) and went back to sleep......sweating like a pig, because the A/C was no longer on full blast, like I like it.....and that, was Day 1!

Tomorrow? BrittCon Day 2...

In Memoriam of The Puppy Monster

Though I was not active in the blogosphere at this time, many of my blog buddies were.

But I can relate, in a way I wish I couldn't.

Out of respect for NYCWD, and naturally, DJ, I post this today. You are in all of our hearts and thoughts today, Dawg.

We'll sweep this clear in 'alf a year, if you don't mind the work....

Goodness, whre to begin?

Well, it's been one hell of a last few days for me, that is for sure. i suppose this all started on Thursday, when I had a rather melancholy post, mainly whining, and I was hit with a sudden sense of dread and depression. I wasn't sure where it came from, and to be honest, it felt like a blanket of sadness was trying to smother me, quite suddenly...I sent an e-mail to my two closest friends here, Nicky & Brandi, asking them to please let us get together because I felt suddenly very depressed and wasn't sure why and I needed to vent. I talked to them both within the next few minutes between calls and e-mails, and it was decided I would meet them at Nicky's after work that night.

Fast forward about....4 hours, I called Nicky to check in with her, and I was told to go to Brandi's house. She seemed rather short about it and I asked what was wrong. I then found out that Brandi had found out about 2 hours prior that her mother was very ill, we're talking, dying, as in, may not make it through the month. As soon as work was done I raced to Brandi's and found out that her mother was on dialysis for a very rare kidney disease that affects 1 in about 3 billion people. yes I said BILLION...Since her mother is currently residing in NORWAY - like, Oslo, or somewhere abouts -- Brandi was heading to Norway as soon as humanly possible.

Oh yeah, that was a shocker, but also explained to me why the hell my sudden depression hit like a mack truck. Long story short....as a Pagan, when you perform Magick in a ritual or ceremony with, and also happen to be close friends with a person, a strong psychic bond is formed. I happen to be blessed with...foresight....about things from time to time. Ever get that feeling something is going to happen? Very specific, whether good or bad? About someone close to you? Yeah, I get those. Mainly it's about Misk or the kids, and for other people, I just get....a taste of what their emotional state of mind is going to be....I am still learning alot, and since I happen to suffer from depression and acute anxiety, I figured I was feeling this way because of my own life....nope, I was wrong, it was Brandi...freaky, huh?

So, Friday night, to keep Brandi from a meltdown and life as normal as possible for the rest of us, we all went to dinner and saw Sex and the City: the Movie. We laughed, we cried, we were disgusted...it was a good night. Cosmos before and after the movie were of course imbibed, and lots of good conversation was had by all.

The next day Brandi and another friend of ours, Kerri, headed to Norway. Nicky and I have been switching back and forth taking care of their Animals. All told, there are 7 ferrets, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a parrot. It's been Wild Kingdom every other day for me, but fun as all heck. But between work, caring for animals and my family, that's left me little time to blog, so I've been twittering a bunch...(look to the right, under Follow Fireheart...yep, that's twitter)

So, another piece of interesting, and in my opinion, very exciting news, is that my sister Shell, was proposed to by her boyfriend on Friday night! Yes, my little sister is off the market, and marrying a wonderful guy! And guess who is Matron of Honor? Yours truly of course, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I am also happy to take on helping my sister to plan most of the wedding, and have even worked on finding her dress and a reception venue already! I am ON IT, lemme tell you people! I even went out and got a wedding planner book today at Borders! Woot!

So that, is pretty much how my weekend went...it's been crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way...I hope you all are having a good week so far...

And the best news (rumor) I've heard yet today is Hilary Clinton will be dropping from the Presidential race tomorrow, officially! What a great way to end this post!

I feel Pretty, oh so Pretty!

OhMiGawd! I love your hair!!

I heard that about 100 times yesterday, and believe me, it didn't get old, not once.

so, a review....This is me about 2 weeks ago maybe 3:

and this is a few pictures of my new look:

I got many many many compliments from this cut. I was told by several people I look at least 5 if not 10 years younger. I was told by a few men that if they didn't know I was married, they'd ask me out!

One regular customer even offered to buy me a drink while I was still working!

The best part of yesterday was giving my boss the Letter of Resignation. He wasn't surprised, as I had told him I would have to quit eventually. But he was very gracious and even thanked me for putting it in writing and giving him 30 days to find and train my replacement. Later that night, he even offered to take me on as his book keeper if I couldn't find a job in an office as I am going to try and do.

So about 6:15pm my friends, Nicky, Brandi & Erin showed up. They were dealing with LGeneral Life and also Boat Wife Drama, and were feeling the need for alcohol. They all went nuts over my hair. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time so many people had such nice things to say about how I look. I felt more beautiful yesterday than I had in along time...anyway...

So after work, I ended over at Brandi's where we watched National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. Good movie by the way, I recommend at least Netflixing it if you have not seen it yet. SO after some good laughs and movie watching with my girls, I headed home.

Where Misk promptly deflated my "I Feel Pretty" bubble:

"You cut your hair? What did you do that for?"

I pretty much said, "Wow, thanks for making me feel lousy, everyone else I saw today all had nothing but great things to say about my hair. Good night." and went to bed. I wanted to cry, but I was too tired. I did stew over it for a while, and decided on a few nasty remarks to Misk would let him know he was on my shitlist.

today after the usual "good Morning" email I get the following from Misk:

P.S. I do like your hair, it was just a shock to me…..love you

yeah I do feel a little better now....so I guess the scathing revenge remarks will have to wait for another day...*le sigh*

But I still feel pretty!

And I don't want to miss a thing......

This illness has gone on long enough. I am tired of it.

Not only am I tired of it, I am tired of feeling useless, breathless, hacking, and rather un-lovely side effects of my medications that have helped me to lose 7 lbs in the last 3 days. One of those side effects? Not being hungry...the other?...let's just say..what little that does go in, comes back out, rather quickly and without much notice before I can dispose of it in the proper receptacle....

I can't wait to feel better...I wonder how my jeans will fit?

One thing I have learned about having bronchitis again, is that I have awesome friends. One had a lengthy convo with me as I hacked away on the phone and asked her to come to BrittCon with me, since Misk can't go, and honestly, as fun as NYC is, I'm too old and set in my ways to go alone. I like having a travel companion. I hope she says yes...

I have also learned that my friends will go out of their way to help me out in time of sickness. Nicky offered to bring me some of her grandmother's healing tea blends, but has to go all the way to Norwich for some of the herbs, and had no qualms about the 15 miles up and back because I am sick and need it. If that's not an awesome friend who is willing to forgo gas mileage (at $3.89 a gallon) for me, I don't know what is...

At any rate, I have things to take care of today, and I can't, because quite honestly, I can tell I am weaker today than yesterday. I have had to actually take a break from typing to let my arms rest. It's very disheartening to feel so....lousy...I can't drive anywhere, really, because I am afraid I will get the shakes from my inhaler again like I did last night, and end up in an accident. I hate that I have coughing fits after going down then back up a flight of stairs, which normally wouldn't wind me. I would very much like to be able to take my kids to school so they don't have to be subject to my mother's mean-spirited berating outside of my ear-shot. I caught her this morning doing it and as weak as I was, made sure to let her know she needed to cut the crap. But there's not a whole hell of a lot I can do from the confines of the bed or latrine.

Man, and I hate that I have become a big ole whiny baby.....

I am hoping my current condition increases in quality today, so I can drive myself to the doctor's at 3:30. I'd have Misk bring me like the other day, but he'll already be at the medical clinic, and will hopefully be meeting me there after his appointment.

I'm just ready to be better.....seriously.....

We're gonna make it right, tonight, toniiight, OH-OOOHHHHH...

Wow, fairly obscure song for today's post.

It's Sunday! WOOT!! I DON'T HAVE TO WORK TODAY!!

I have been waiting for today for 2 weeks! YEAH!!

I am heading off in a while to Brandi's. Then we are heading to some other part of CT for some May Pole Dancing! heh. In the rain! AW YEAH!!

I'm practical and packed extra clothes. I am smart like that.

Tonight though, man, tonight is gonna be awesome. My co-hosting/guest-being at Mr.Fab's Radio Show!! Here is a direct link to the show. Warning: You won't get much of anything until about 5 minutes before the show starts.....keep that in mind!

He was a little nasty, but he of course, posted about it this morning on his blog. He seems to think that I might get offended or something. I think Ole Fabby forgets that I am a SAILOR'S WIFE. HAHA...There's not much I haven't heard, although with Mr. Fab, it is possible that I haven't heard a thing or two. But I doubt very much I'll be bothered or offended...haha.

So, all those drunks --- I mean, "lucky TequilaCon Attendees", might end up showing up to listen in. I hope so. I may be insanely jealous of them, but that doesn't mean I don't want them to listen. After all, it's all about me....and my insanity....muahaha!

And besides, I have an ideal idea for a spot for next year's tequila Con....I'll tell you all about it tonight!! But I will give you a hint.....It's close to where I live, AND has slot machines, poker tables and FABULOUS (i.e. expensive) SHOPPING!!!

Hope you all tune in to the show tonight!

And so it goes, and so it goes.....

Christmas is over and a New Year is almost upon us.

Here's Emily with her new haircut all styled, right before she sings into the microphone at school. I was so damn proud, I cried...a lot.....of course 2 days later she broke out in scarlet fever, 2 days before christmas, but that's not important now, is it?

Emily Looking Spiffy

I have lots to say on my Holidays. I spent last Friday at Nessa's house. We conspired to write about how we conspired with each other to blog about how her husband was telling her what to blog about. We'd had a few glasses of wine and lemoncello by then. I also promised to post pictures of our evening....so here they are....

Nessa enjoying some wine...

Dave's Big screen TV with Christmas DVD's playing

The lovely fire again...Dave couldn't believe us GIRLS knew how to do it LOL

Dave looking all suave before he goes to hang out with his buddies (too many girls in the house for him :P

I also saw my aunt in RI and had a good talk with her about my mom. I am hoping that Mom's visit with Auntie will get her motivated to get the hell otu of my house....my next option is taking her to an appointment for social services. Although I don't knwo how much help they will be. SHe doesn't want to help herself. She wasnts someone else to take care of her. I already have 2 children, I don't need a thrid...nor do I need my mother with me until I die. My whole life she taught me to be independant and not to have to rely on anyone, yet here she is, sticking to me like a fucking leech. Iroonic, isn't it? Anyway...

Christmas was a nice afair. The night that Emily went to the Urgent Care Clinic for her Scarlet fever (which is just a warm to the touch rash that pops up if strep throat isn't reated right away...it starts with headaches, then vomiting, then the rash...Em had them all), I was not feeling so hot myself with a bad headcold, and so Hubby decided to give me one of my presents (he only got me 2) I figured, what the hell, why not? Here's what I got....

1/3 ct. TW

yep they are real. Sorry about the bad pic quality.....my camera just will not cooperate..yes it made me feel just a little bit better that night....After all, Hubby swore after losing my first pair of diamonds at Nessa's during the wedding time, I wasn't going to get anymore...ever.....

Come Christmas day, I had one more gift. I waited patiently while the kids IMpatiently opened all their gifts and had a blast discovering what Santa brought them. This is what I got....

It's a Coach!!

It's small but fits all the essentials. I love it. I screamed and jumped up to call my friend Nicky. Hubby thought I was calling Nessa, which maybe I should have...but she reads this so she will be delighted....firstly that I finally updated, and second that I got this purse!!

Well that's enough from me for now...I have to go to work today. Then I am hoping to go out and do something with Hubby...but I am not holing my breath. We already went out and used a gift card we got this week for dinner. knowing him it will be all we do the rest of the time he's on leave...

I wish you all a Happy New Year....I'll blog again in January!!
