Come my little friends, As we all sing a happy little working song...

It's a Bullet Monday... too tired to write a full post.

  • I made almost nothing for tips last night. The bar was dead at 10:30 pm and I was forced to sit there til Midnight. More Sucktacular Sunday.

  • Today the weather is crappy again, and it is keeping me in a foul mood. I love Autumn, but I hate cold, cloudy, rain-looming days.

  • I have to work again today, of course, and at the moment, it is the bright spot in my dreary day. I really cannot wait to be there. I never imagined I would find a job I liked so dang much!

  • I seriously need to get some more music for my iPod. Or make up some good playlists. Since I can listen at work, it's helped me stay focused. I work better with music.

  • My anniversary is Sunday. Misk got me my present already and I haven't a clue what to get him. we weren't supposed to be getting presents for each other this year, even though it's a milestone. Then he gets me "Guitar Hero Aerosmith". I asked him what he wants. his answer? A NewEgg.com gift certificate. How original. I think I'll get him a new watch, his is falling apart.

  • I miss my friends. I was invited to hang with them yesterday, but couldn't because I had to work. I think they are all coming to the Renaissance Faire with me on Saturday though. A girl can hope! I'm lonely without them.

  • I can't figure out how to get Blogger's bullets to delete in-between so I can space stuff out. this frustrates me...oh well.

That's all for today. Have a great Monday.

Everybody's workin' for the weekend.....

And so, my first official week at Corporate America has ended!

It was a long week, but I learned a lot. I also made a couple good friends at work, and that makes me warm and fuzzy. One friend will officially be a supervisor come November, and she has entrusted me to learn the accounts she usually handles because she thinks I do so well and learn quick, and have good attention to detail.

I feel so awesome. I cannot describe my happiness in this perfect, perfect job.

As I was typing this up, Misk offered to give me my Anniversary Present a week early. Of course I said yes!

What did he get me? Only the wickedly awesomest game out there today --

Have I mentioned that I have the BEST HUSBAND EVER??? No? WELL I DO!!

Now I am off to play with my new game. Hope you all have a great weekend!

~Cissa

p.s. sorry for the short post, but my wickedly super awesome Anniversary present has completely wiped any other thoughts I wanted to put down. maybe tomorrow will be a longer post.....

I feel like a deer in headlights about to be run over....

Today was my first day of my new job. It was a long day. it was approximately 1.5 hours longer than a regular day for me. I learned a LOT about the industry I am now in, how to do my job, how QA does their job, an dhow it may come that I will do some of QA's work and vice versa.

And did I get actually get to eat the lunch I so painstakingly packed yesterday? Not exactly.

I had a Sprite and a bag of Goldfish. During an about-10-minute break.

But in defense of my Supervisor, he had a LOT to teach me because tomorrow, I am pretty much flying solo. My actual job training was delayed by the hour and a half HR orientation, which was actually very interesting. I got to meet much of the office, including the CEO. I also did about 2 hours hands-on training, and in all honesty, I think I got my job figured out. Well...the main part of my job.

I'd love to go into detail, but I signed an agreement not to disclose specifics. But suffice to say, it's a damn good thing I know how to surf the net and use email. And my html basic knowledge? a definite plus!

I am tired and need to catch up on my shows that I missed last night. Thank goodness tomorrow I start later at work. This morning was mass confusion and the girls were nearly late for school!

stepping out of the grey day she came, her red hair falling like the sky...

And now I present.....

Before.......

and After....

Much better I think. Much more natural looking. I am a happy camper. I've got work at the bar tonight and then a short 6 hours sleep until my first day of work...My weekend has mostly been spent indoors. I pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in my neck and it's made moving around very difficult. I hope I do well in tips tonight, I need to pay for parking in the morning!

Hope you all have had a great weekend!

What goes around comes back around...

Last night I worked at the bar again, my Sunday night money maker. I spent the majority of the day prior to work working on laundry and watching the pathetic, disgusting Patriots/Dolphins game. I left the house already in a pissy mood.

Apparently that left my customers last night with the assumption that I was fair game to be complete and utter assholes to me and to the other bar patrons.

-- one customer got so drunk that he decided he was going to fight me about his bill. Forget the fact that he bought 2 rounds for the ENTIRE bar, plus shots for himself and a few others. Apparently he thought I was trying to cheat him. I don't think so. I told him if he continued to be belligerent and demeaning I was going to ask him to leave (his ride wasn't there yet, but I didn't give a damn)

-- one guy decided the mens' room wasn't clean enough for him. According to him it was disgusting and smelled bad and there were flies. I had news for him; it's mid-September and there are flies everywhere, even at my house. He decided that he was going to be an ass and complain as loudly as possible. He kept saying the health department would shut us down if they were there. I called my boss (who too his first day off in 3 months) because he was being such an asshole and I was losing my patience. I had the kitchen helper clean the bathroms....again, because they were just cleaned that morning.

-- this jerk wasn't done though, because after Boss Man calmed him down on the phone, he decided to target me directly, making comments about my cleavage, my choice in men (he thought he could and I quote "fuck the hell out of me better" than my husband) and the fact that I was usuing my education to be uppity. Oh yeah, sorry I use big words, loser. He then proceded to try and get sordid details about my private sexual life. I told him in no uncertain terms it was none of his business and if he was going to treat me like trash he could leave. I may be in the service industry, but that doesn't give him the right to treat me like a two-bit whore.

-- THEN this SAME ASSHOLE decided to pick a fight with one of our regular and most laid-back patrons, who he had some sort of beef with. They were yelling in each other's face and I truly thought I was gonna have to call the cops for a bar fight. Thank Goddess that the usually calm guy took the high road, and walked out to cool off. Shortly after the argument "Asshole" left.

-- later on, or maybe while the Asshole was there, some guy and his ex came in. They were there almost all night. By the end of the night, she was getting really pissy, and while the Boss Lady (Boss Man's wife) and I were making out (code word for smoking, fyi) outside, they came out and he asked if either of us had ever met the guy before. I knew I hadn't and made a point to say so, as did Boss Lady. Well the chick went back in, finished her beer and proceeded to make a big stink to the guy as he left. They then started to exchange text messages after she drove away. The guy told me that the chick (his ex) had made up her mind that he was screwing me. I had a good laugh at that, but it pissed me off because 1. I'm married and I KNOW I said that to her several times during the night, and 2. this guy was WAY below my standards and 3. Even if I WAS single, I don't screw patrons because that could end up losing business for the Boss Man and lastly 4. she's not his girlfriend, so what fucking business of hers is it anyway if I WAS screwing him??. At one point after she left she texted him saying that she knew he hadn't left because he could see his truck still. I looked across the street, and sure enough, this bitch was stalking him parked under the light of the church parking lot across the street. I went back inside. I didn't need any more drama.

so yeah....that was my night. I got home about 1:30 and finally to sleep about 2am. I am friggin exhausted and didn't make as much in tips as I would have liked.

I guess last night was my day to deal with the assholes of the world. *le sigh*

Today better be better, because I'm tired and cranky and I deserve a good day after last night!

HNT: BrittCon Purchases

Welcome to HNT! This week I have a lovely view of my OTHER arm (the one opposite last weeks tan lines)...

Pictured on my arm are 4 bracelets I got in Chinatown. They are Hermatite, Tiger's Eye, and Red and Black Jade.

This morning I was awoken by the phone ringing. My caller ID crapped out, but I assumed it was Misk. Upon answering, I discovered it was the Dentist's Office who I had left my name with yesterday regarding employment. I had a brief phone interview, which I totally rocked, even if I was half-asleep, and then asked to fax in my resume so that they could review it, then call me back to set up my physical interview! WOOT!

I also have an appointment at 2:30 PM with the Temp Agency (name withheld) that I have worked for in the past. I am hoping that this will get me gainful employment, in case the Dentist's office falls through.

I also need to get my ass in gear and get the kids set up for School Age Care through the Navy base. School starts in about a month, and if I have them registered NOW, I won't have to worry about it later....

ok I am off! If you want to see other HNT photos, Stop by Os's Place!

I cannot come up with a song lyric today....wow.

You people are not going to believe this: I think I might have bronchitis...AGAIN!

Seriously, I have been hacking up a lung for the last few days, sucking down generic menthol eucalyptus drops like they are going out of style, and generally feeling miserable, including a stuffy nose and my nodes are swollen all nice and stuff. (TWKS)

I am sick, but I don't have the time to be.

Today and tomorrow are my last 2 days of scheduled work for my waitressing job. I doubt I will make much money, only for the simple fact that I have to share the shift with another waitress, my replacement, as she trains to fill my position (TWKS...damn I'm on a roll!).

This kinda sucks, because I am willing to bet that my tips would help a lot with my financial situation in trying to make it to BrittCon. but now that they are halved, maybe not. I don't' feel too bad because the girl who is taking my weekend shifts is a nice girl, and I actually am kinda sad I won't get to work with her. But still, lots of money would be nice too.

After being done with work, I have the following to do next week:

  • get mom finalized and all packed up (non-furniture stuff)
  • be a chaperone on a field trip for The Bug
  • attend a "end of year" class picnic for The Bug (must remember paper plates)
  • read up on Litha (Midsummer) rituals, which is this week and ritual is Sunday
  • get the U-haul (reservation made)
  • pack the U-haul, with just me and Mom to do it (Misk will conveniently be at work)
  • get the U-haul with mom's stuff to RI and then unpack it.
  • get back to CT not too late so Misk doesn't bitch more about having to drive somewhere after a "long week" of sitting on his ass in an air conditioned office until Friday when he actually does his work.
  • move my furniture that was in the garage for the last year back into my living room where it belongs...then vacuum and deodorize it....
  • Clean my house with lots of hot water, bleach, ammonia, anti-bacterial Mr. Clean, etc. on my knees scrubbing and throwing out a LOT of crap that mom will have left for me "to sell at a yard sale"
  • FINALLY set up a permanent altar in the living room, like I have been wanting to do for months.
  • get together with my friends for an "adult toy party" stay up late and drink, etc.
  • go to Litha Ritual on Sunday.
  • constantly remind Misk that I am not going to BrittCon because his piece of shit truck needed brakes And also remind him he isn't getting the lovin' from me.
  • check the mailbox with fervor everyday at 4 pm for that fucking stimulus check.
  • Revel in the fact that my Mother is going to be out of my house and after she is gone, enjoy my home once more!
Misk is still holding out hope for the stimulus check. He really wants to get laid. Yesterday's post still holds true. I refuse to have sex with him if I don't get to go to BrittCon and he gets his brakes on his piece of shit car.

But anyway. So as much as going to work thrills me, and I'm being ironical here, folks, I don't want to go because I feel like total crap. When I go in, I am willing to bet my boss (for 2 more days) will try to say I am faking it, make some disparaging/insulting comments about my home life/sex life/marriage/friends and I will be even more ticked off.

I totally will not miss his comments.

I hope I make it through today without too much crap from anyone. Maybe it's just PMS or something, but I will crack some skulls if I have to this week.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

So thanks for making me a fighter...

Ok, I am really ticked off this morning. Yesterday was a crappy day, and I thought, after cooling off and doing some breathing exercises to calm me down, I'd head to the bookstore and get some more books. Because, you see, 10 shelves over flowing ith books between Misk and I is not nearly enough.

After spending an hour and $60 on books, I settled into a comfy chair at the cafe with my small Mocha (damn place was out of Javakula mix!), and started reading. After another hour I felt much better indeed. I picked up The Bugaboo (Kaitlyn) from school, let her have a little play date at her friend's, then headed home to chill out some more before work.

Work, you ask? But Cissa, wasn't it Monday, your DAY OFF?? Why, yes, dear friends and readers, it was. But, alas, the girl who had been gone for 2 weeks (and whom I had covered MOST of her shifts, mind you) was apparently NOT able to make it because she wasn't back yet, or so I was told.

So, fiddle-dee-dee, there I am at work, a few tables but still pretty quiet, blah blah blah. The phone rings, and I look at the caller ID, inform my boss that it is the girl who's shift I am covering, and let him pick up the kitchen extension. He's chatting away and I hear...

"So, did you just get back?"

"Oh. Uh-huh..."

"Mm-hmm...a Chicken Gyro? OK see you in a bit."

If my face wasn't previously severely sunburnt at that point, it would have quickly gone as red as it was already. I'm rather certain I did start to turn purple, though. I. was. pissed.

Apparently the girl was back, in town, and had been all day. Not only that, but she had the effing GALL to call in a TAKE OUT ORDER AND COME IN AND PICK IT UP WHILE I WORKED HER EFFING SHIFT!!

Breathe Cissa, breathe......ok, I'm good.

Now, perhaps some of you may think I am over-reacting. Seriously? I am not. If you are going to call in and say you can't come in to work a shift at your job, why would you think it is OK to come in to the place for take-out ??? A couple people I have talked to about it have told me I should have said no to working the shift. Perhaps this is true. But I honestly do not think it would have changed a thing. She still would have come in, thus showing off to whoever was working. It's rude. It's incinsiderate. It's just plain wrong. Especially when I found out what happened at home after arriving back there about 9:30 last night.

Apparently, all the extra shifts I have taken on in the last 2 weeks is really upsetting my kids. Emily more than Kaitlyn, but I think that's because Kait sees me for a few hours after Pre-K, and I am already gone by the time Em gets home. When she got home and asked where I was, my mother told her. She cried hysterically for quite a while.

"She Lied! She Lied! She doesn't love us! Why is she always working?!"

I just about broke down and cried myself when my mother told me how upset Emily got. It's still ripping my heart out. Looking back on yesterday evening, I am more upset about the girl coming in because of my child's reaction to me not being home. She could have worked, but didn't. I know the other waitress who was offered the shift and she also turned it down to spend time with her kids. I am angry at myself for being so nice, because honestly, at that moment, I felt so taken advantage of, and that also angers me.

I don't know what to do. The money has been good, as far as getting my paychecks anyway. But I feel like I am burning out of this job lately. It's starting to affect my kids, and I'd rather live a simpler life and be home more than make my children need therapy because I gave them abandonment issues.

I talked to Emily today and explained to her why I worked, and apologized for not letting her know Monday before school. She was OK about it, but I could tell she was still very upset, and when she asked me if I was working again tonight, the broken look on her face when I answered yes said it all.

As I have said time and time again, Mother of the Year, I am not. And I continue to prove it over and over again.

Hope you all have had a better day. I'm going to go drown in a Diet Coke and a cigarette.

But the fevers gonna catch you when the bitch gets back...

I know that's a terrible title for the post, but it's been running through my brain ever since last night. And honestly I don't mean it. But it popped into my head, so there it is...

Mom and the girls are both back. The kids are back for good til Summer sometime.

Mom is back for a few weeks....til she moves...to MAINE!

I, of course, had to work all day during what was, hands down, the best bloody day we've had in 6 months. It was like 70+ degrees here in SE Connecticut, and I was in a restaurant ALL DAY.

How many customers did I get you ask? 2...YES..2 customers! I was bored out of my bloody skull. But at least I caught up on my reading!

The last customer for me didn't show up until 15 minutes before my shift was over, making me stay an extra 1/2 hour, which totally sucked because I just wanted to go home. I missed the girls more than I would have admitted all week. The freedom was great, and relaxing, but...

When I finally got home and heard the elephant tramplings down the stair and saw the shining smiles of Kaity then Emily, I just about crumpled right there. I swear, in one week, they both shot up at least 2 inches. New England blessed Spring break with gorgeous weather all week, and it was apparent that my father took full advantage of it and kept the girls outside most of it. Their faces were tan with twinges of pink from slight sunburn. They looked alive and happy, but I could tell that as much fun as they had with Grandma and Grandpa, they also missed home.

We hung out and I tried to get them to tell me all about their trip. Of course, they don't remember much, or just didn't have words to tell me, I don't know. I knew my mom was due back in that night so we all piled into the bed and watched MythBusters chatted and had tickle fights til I got the call from mom to pick her up. Mom was happy to be back, but I could tell something was different.

She said she couldn't wait til she went back.

Yeah, I am happy.

And now, I am going to sign-off and hang out with my family before work...but look for me tonight in the chat for Mr. Faboulous' Radio Show! By the way, May 4th, I am the guest on Mr. Fab's show! how exciting!! I can't wait...
